B.D Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish sales and retention budgets in conjunction with the Sales Manager/General Manager
  • Proactively identity and pursue sales leads
  • Negotiate contract terms in consultation with the Sales Manager/General Manager
  • Close sales
  • Achieve budgets
  • To establish and implement marketing plan/initiative to increase profitable revenue generation
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all World Courier services
  • Research and develop comprehensive industry knowledge with the market for World Courier i.e Biopharm
  • Report competitor activities to the Sales Manager/General Manager
  • Develop business plans for targeted business
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems
  • Develop a systematic and ongoing communications program with existing and prospective customers
  • Maintain an account management database to document, monitor and support each customer relationship
  • Prepare and submit weekly sales figures, call reports and other records as requested to the Sales Manager/General Manager
  • Participate in (occasional) out-of-hours promotional networking activities
  • Liaise proactively and effectively with back-office/support staff to ensure a high standard of customer service
  • Avoid exposing the company to unnecessary credit risk
  • Participate in the enforcement of credit terms
  • Cross-sell other World Courier services
  • Other duties as reasonably directed by the Sales Manager/General Manager

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • A graduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Position requires at least 5+ years of experience in delivering high-quality, relevant selling services
  • Sales experience, general sales expertise and account-based sales experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, for the purpose of preparing proposals, reports and customer presentations

  • Strong creativity skills; with particular emphasis on creative problem solving
  • Experience selling to or working with personnel in pharmaceutical or the medical logistics industry is also preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and other software programs and tools necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs
